ALICE STONE BLACKWELL

Alice Stone Blackwell was born September 14, 1857 in Orange, New Jersey before her parents returned to Boston in 1870. She was the only child of Henry Browne Blackwell and Lucy Stone. Her mother, Lucy Stone, was the first woman to earn a college degree in Massachusetts, the first woman to keep her maiden name when she married and she was also the first woman to speak full-time on woman’s rights...
